License
Plaivid uses a License system to manage and control the capacity of virtualization services. The license specifies how many times each service can be simultaneously (Active) used.
In other words, the license limitation is calculated based on the number of active services, not the number of services you create.
Licensed Services
In Plaivid, the following services independently hold licenses:
- Virtual Machine (VM)
- Virtual Desktop (VDI)
- Container
- Fylad
- Saiode
Default License
After initial installation, Plaivid provides a preliminary license by default for starting and evaluating the system, which includes the following:

This initial license is considered for starting, testing, and evaluating the environment.
How License Works
The number of licenses does not mean a limit on creating services; rather, it determines how many of them can be active and in use simultaneously.
For example:
- You can create more than 6 virtual machines.
- But if your license includes 6 Virtual Machines, only 6 virtual machines can be running (Running) simultaneously.
- This policy also applies to Virtual Desktop, Container, Fylad, and Saiode.
Assume you have created 20 virtual machines in your infrastructure, but you only have 6 Virtual Machine Licenses.
In this case:
- ✅ Anytime you can run 6 virtual machines simultaneously.
- ❌ If all 6 are on, it won't be possible to start the seventh machine until a license is freed.
Increasing License Capacity
If you need to increase the capacity of virtualization services, you can upgrade the Plaivid license.
To receive a new license or increase the capacity of existing licenses, contact the Sales Unit of Avid Company.
In enterprise environments, plan license capacity based on the maximum number of simultaneously active services, not the total number of services created over time.
